Abstract: Music groups such as bands and ensembles frequently encounter developmental or organizational problems that create psychological discord for individual members as well as group dissonance.1 Musicians, however, are not always well prepared to deal with the complex issues that are a natural part of a group's existence. Consequently, the group stumbles through the disruptive times, often at great creative, personal, physical, and financial cost, without seeking assistance from the outside. Delivery of health care in situations such as these is a critical issue whether from a traditional or nontraditional perspective. Brandfonbrener issued a challenge to the field of music medicine to find creative solutions to all of the health issues experienced by musicians.
