Abstract: This article deals primarily with the etiologies of musicians' injuries and medical problems, where much of our experience has been. Classical and popular musicians are seen, and many of their injuries are identical. When there is relevant information specific to medical problems of classical, jazz, rock, or ethnic players, it is fully discussed. There are many medical problems common to all performing artists, and those that are not covered here are discussed elsewhere.
