Abstract: As in the general population, carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar neuropathy at the elbow are the most frequent nerve intrapments among instrumentalists. This review summarizes the clinical features, methods of diagnosis, and approaches to treatment for both syndromes, including potential problems specific to instrumentalists. The author also reviews his experience at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation's Medical Center for Performing Artists.
