Genees & Kunst 2: Second Biannual Symposium on Medical Problems of Dancers and Musicians, The Hague, April 1, 2006Dutch Performing Arts Medicine Association
Abstract: On April 1st, 2006, the Dutch Performing Arts Medicine Association (NVDMG) celebrated its first anniversary and its second member assembly with a festive symposium ¿Genees & Kunst 2¿ in the Medical Centre of The Hague (MCH Westeinde), hosted by Dr. A.B.M. (Boni) Rietveld, M.D., B.A.(music), of the Medical Centre for Dancers & Musicians. The guest of honor was Prof. Dr. Med. Christoph Wagner, Musikphysiologe from Germany. Other medical and scientific presentations, interspersed with dance and music performances, were given by Dr. Constant C. Delprat, former medical adviser of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra; Dr. Marco F.F. Franken, otolaryngologist/phoniatrician; Dr. Boni Rietveld, orthopaedic surgeon; Dr. Cees Vervoorn, exercise physiologist; and Dr. Albert van de Wiel, internal medicine. After a reception and dinner party, the day was concluded with a performance of Dance Company Krisztina de Châtel in the Theater aan¿t Spui in The Hague. |
