Abstract: In my first editorial, from September 2005, I made an analogy between the duties of a conductor and those of an editor. Both roles require an individual to produce something worthwhile through the efforts of others: composers, arrangers, and musicians or authors, reviewers, and publishers. A similar analogy probably could be made with the choreographer or director¿s role, also. Audiences and critics often hold the conductor responsible for the performance of a musical ensemble, and editors share the same responsibility, even though both making music and producing a scholarly journal are complex operations that involve many people, seen and unseen. In this issue, we announce the addition of several names to the Editorial Board, and I want to extend the analogy to highlight the role of all of the editors.
