Abstract: In many human cancers, resistance to chemotherapy is due to an over expression of the multidrug resistance P-glycoprotein, MDR1, which enchances drug efflux. Therapeutic strategies to reverse chemotherapy resistance mediated by MDR1 P-gp have shown inconclusive results so far, but some significant improvements in overall survival have been achieved.
